About Karun

Karun, the Nairobi-based R&B/Soul luminary, crafts meditative melodies that resonate with raw honesty. Her borderless-pop sound transcends cultural boundaries, inviting listeners into a realm where introspection meets universal truths.

She cites the likes of Erykah Badu, James Blake, and Amel Larrieux  as some of her influences. However, her own unique outlook and expression contribute to her soulful sound.

She has made notable career strides in her decade long career such as being featured on Forbes Top 30 Under 30 Africa list (2019), won awards and nominations namely "R&B artist of the year"  (Cafe Ngoma Awards) and Afrima (nomination) 2021, had her songs featured in films and ad placements such as her song “Interlude (Sun)” in Fox TV’s “The Resident” (S02E12), her song “Catch A Vibe” featured in Apple’s global event “World Wide Developers Forum” as part of the ShazamKit presentation and collaborated with multiple Brands and companies such as Focusrite, Nivea and more.
